Is that the price for the city pants? I just want to say that the BMW City pants are the best value out there. Yes, you can get jeans for about half that price, but they will not have even a quarter of the protection, and they will not be as comfortable or as durable.
I wear a pair of City pants. Every single day to, at and from work. Then on the weekends I wear them when touring. I bought them second-hand and have used them for 3 years solid now, with little sign of them wearing out.
They are a little warm in the heat of summer (no vents), but are workable and comfortable, and you do not sweat in them like in the Chinese cheapies. The only problem I have with my City pants is that I wear them so much I only get a chance to wash them every few months - luckily they are up to it and look good regardless.
Beware of kevlar jeans - apparently some brands will pop apart at the seams when you hit tar at speed. The kevlar lasts and would've provided protection if it had stayed on your body...
